We need to find a place that's warm (I don't like 8-month-long icy winters, and she gets cold very, very easily), that has a relatively free political climate, and that isn't overrun with illegals and welfare bums where we can get a chunk of land to hold on to.  Bonus points for such an area where we could actually earn a living, and so be able to move sooner rather than later.

I'm afraid Texas, Arizona, and Nuevo Mexico will be overrun during my lifetime.  I used to think about VA, but I'm afraid NoVA is going to overrun the rest of the state within the next couple of decades... it doesn't matter if most of the state is a rural paradise when the votes that control it are Socialist, like here in CA.  Currently, I'm thinking TN.  She has said she'd like to stay west of the Mississippi.  Dunno why, but I don't know what there is on this side... the Mid-West is out for both of us.
