I mean really WTF does he do with it? I have yet to see a comercial, or any thing else other then those HOMEMADE signs Paul Bots hang on over passes...

What did he just put it into his fucking Blimp?

I ask this because he is trying to raise a huge amount in one day with his tea party 2007 party, or what ever it is...

Nope, IIRC the blimp effort is totally independent.  He's paying for radio and TV adds which can easily cost 1M each in major markets.

Likely working the early primary states and probably saving it for a blitz closer to voting time.

The blimp is not being run by his official campaign.

At least he's not spending $400 on a haircut.

I hear him on XM about every 18 seconds.  I've seen two signs for him.  One was in Texas, the other was in phone cups on a walk way over an interstate in st louis

Wait. So it does or does not have commercials?

If it does, wasn't it first advertised as commercial free?

It was never advertised as commercial free - merely, that many/most channels on it were commercial free.

I think Dusty_C here must listen to a lot of talk radio - most talk radio programs are designed for the standard commercial market, so I suppose XM fills the spaces similarly.

I suppose they could make AFN-style public service / history announcements to fill the space, but why?

80% talk 20% country, there's commercials all over.  Opie and Anthony are simulcast and take breaks for free radio to have commercials, and they used to play short OnA bits.  Now they play commercials too

The same things the other candidates spend money on, phone banks, commercials, signage, slimjims, travel expenses, etc.

He's significantly increased his ad buys in the primary states since Nov.5, not only what's running now but what will be in a month when it matters, which was the point.

It's cheaper to buy early and with as crazy as Iowa and NH are going to be there's not going to be decent airtime available a month from now. This might be a problem for Huckabee actually as he has no budget and no airtime to counter whatever Romney throws at him at the 11th hour.

So far the only signs I've seen for any candidate have all been for Paul.
