Dear Friends,
Last Thursday we attended a meeting at the monthly "ATF" night in
Culver City. The turnout was extremely large and there were quite a few
people from the 2nd amendment Sisters and other area NRA Councils who
wanted to know what they could do to help Burro Canyon. We spoke to the
editor of the Sierra Times, Mr. J.J. Johnson and he will be lending the
support of his internet news site to our cause. While you're at it you
can visit their site at http://www.sierratimes.com
The pressure on the Forest Service is mounting. We are planning to meet
with members of several California gun rights groups and our local
congressman between now and 6 February. Now that we have our new
president in place, our lawmakers will have a little more time to meet
with us, at least until the 6th of Feb. when the next vote is scheduled
in Washington.
It is important to emphasize that the political pressure from all of
you
must continue. We must NOT let up. Please re-contact Congressman Dreier
at 626-339-9078 and give him encouragement. Remember, he is on our side
but as a politician he needs to understand that there is considerable
support to reopen the Range, and that it is in his political interest
to
do so.
We MUST start a new round of calls to the Forest Supervisor, Jody Cook,
here in Arcadia at (626) 574-1613 and continue to register your
displeasure as well at Brad Powell's office in Vallejo at (707)
562-9000. Mr. Powell is Jody Cook's boss!
With the new administration in place we hope and pray that gunownwers
will get a little more support; however, the war will NEVER be over, we
must remember that!
There can be NO retreat...On to Victory!
