I did about 10 years ago with a truck windshield that I had replaced.  It seemed that the bullets shattered pretty well, I am not sure they would had much stopping power after that.

Anyone else try this?

Old Painless did a test on shooting through glass IIRC.

What round did you use?

At a MN HTF shoot we did.

We used LE223T3 from Federal.

Bonded ammo specifically designed for the task.

Penetrated the windshield and ended up in the trunk IIRC.

IIRC, it was just standard 55gr winchester and a few 62gr steel core I got from a friend.

True that.  I have pics in the outdoor forum on a small deer that was shot with that round.

Massive damage.

Some of the agencies around me are now using the Tap barricade round but we still have the Federal.  Very good round, very expensive.

Had a close friend who shot 5 or six at a severe angle after some asshat tried to kill him. The majority of rounds did NOT penetrate the glass at the angle, It was very interesting.

I can maybe get some photos of the windshield. I believe the ammo was Federal 69 grain stuff.
