The turn will come when we entrust the conduct of our affairs to the men who understand that their first duty as public officials is to divest themselves of the power that they have been given. It will come when Americans, in hundreds of communities throughout the nation, decide to put the man in office who is pledged to enforce the Constitution and restore the Republic. Who will proclaim in a campaign speech: 'I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel the old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is “needed” before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents’ “interests,” I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.

Of course, the socialists like to brag about how much legislation they authored to interfere with our lives.

Which side are you on again?

Fredheads complain that Paul has not actually gotten any of his bills passed.

I'm just using the same argument against them.

OK. So the question should be a bit more clear. What bills did the two author and why did they fail/succeed.

I would guess that RP's bills failed because he is battier than a belfry in Transylvania.

Never, not a thing, nada, zip... Ron Paul is the most ineffectual Congressman to ever sit in the US House of Representatives.

The amount of ignorance in the typical ARFCOMMER never ceases to amaze me.

Guess there are sheep everywhere.

I don't have a  dog in this fight, but why resort to name calling?

Because this thread was started with the intention of arguing and eventually reaching the point of name-calling.

Know what that's called boys and girls? Very good! That's right! It's a TROLL.

You're the guy who believes FEMA is running prison camps around the U.S., and knows dick about the Electoral College, and you're going to make a statement about ignorance?

Okay, I'm genuinely curious here.

What HAS Ron Paul gotten done the many years he's been in Congress?

Me too. Just curious.

Typical RP supporter response to issues they can't answer.

The RP Handbook says anyone who disagrees with RP should be labeled a liberal, communist, neocon, etc,.

So essentially after getting his head handed to him so quickly, he starts name calling in an attempt to get the thread locked so it won't be an embarrassment anymore?

You can't be serious.  Ron Paul and his supporters here have been called just about everything imaginable.

Perhaps its a two way street?

Thanks Bama, I think.

I usually ignore the RP, FT threads.  Now I know what I have been missing.

Well oh wise one tell us what Paul has accomplished while in Congress... was he a member of the Electoral College or in his case maybe the Electoral Collage.

Get out the secret decoder ring and get to work.

I've been called all of the above and worse in RP threads. Just because I don't agree with the RP supporters or I point out direct quotes from RP that condrict their position.

Calling someone such as myself an unpatriotic, communist douchbag is not the same as referring to an RP supporter as a Paulbot, etc.,

All they can come up with is to call names because they have nothing else to fall back on.

Unfortunately this won't be over till November of next year because RP will running as third party and the insanity will continue.

ETA: Calling other posters names is not allowed here. Calling RP a moonbat, nutbag, etc is allowed. It's also true.

In defense of Favre44, I think he was referencing the funny email that's been going around with "Fred Thompson Facts."  There's also a website.  Well, for what it's worth, I'll copy-paste from the email as follows...

Indeed it was a joke, Glad you got it
