I paid the $$ to help support the site because I enjoy it so much and felt the need to help out. I get waaaaaay more than sixty bucks of enjoyment a week, let alone a year. You gents do what you think is best. [:)]
FWIW, I have a feeling the new forum is going to go over like the women's forum--roughly like the proverbial turd in the punchbowl. It is tough to improve on perfection. |

We are having very high winds here in N.E. Ohio today. Hunted in Ashtabula county this afternoon till dark (thats N.E. Ohio at the Pa. border) Not much flying and we didn't get a shot. Had fun in the blind as usual though. Time spent with friends is not wasted.

The new paying members forum was something that when this web sight first decided to have a paying membership available was planned to happen. The general idea behind it is that 99% of the Trolls that come and go will not spend money to just post in that forum and lose their accounts and money. Again an added plus for those who do not want to see any Troll traffic or heavy Mod evolvement in the forum. If that is not on your list of things that you enjoy, then don't worry about the new members only forum. I have seen other sites, and they went down fast because the lack of support from its members. i.e. AK47.net What I get from this site is much more than the $60.00 (actually $100.00) I paid. There's roughly 130 contributors + staff guys... that means that the 15000 non paying guys don't have a friggen clue what's going on in there and don't give a rat's ass about it either. So by your math skills, these 130 people will be able to destroy something which is being held together by these 15,000??? Hmmm, I highly doubt it... (No insult intended, just throwing facts your way!) The stuff in that forum is mostly joking and making fun of McUzi... ooops... [=D] The guys who kicked in contributions wanted this, so I obliged. I'm here to make sure everyone enjoys things and is treated the same. Having a small forum where the guys can go hide out when the "shit" hits the fan, is nothing major. As an aside, porn site run roughly $20-$30 a month, the contribution here is $5. 90% of porn sites (probably higher than that) have less traffic than we do, less dynamic content, less interactive apps, less work, less time invested, etc and charge that to MAKE MONEY. We collect $60 from those who wish to help keep things running and then try to turn around and give some of it back as thanks and to bring a little excitement to the table. (There's a ton of costs related to the site, not to mention the time to get things like the LEGP, Knives, and other merchandise put together!) Now add to that the constant changes, fixes, upgrades, expansions I work on for EVERYONE'S BENEFIT and see if your bitching is worthwhile??? I've always said this site would remain "public" and that I would expand services and abilities for ALL. I also said I would do what the contributing members asked of me to make their $60 go as far as possible in regards to the site, tools, and added benefits. I think this is more than you'll find from most places... Just consider the hours I have put into this place and think about how many jobs and contracts I've had to pass on to be able to do so... then guess on how much I make and consider that side of the financial burden I take. It's not just about how much this place costs to run... it's about how much this places is a part of me and my hard work. Then if you still want to bitch, there's absolutely nothing I can say to you... but don't expect my respect or thanks for being here. |

Well said GB. This amazes me. No flame intended, but CERTAIN non-paying members are bitchin because paying members wanted to help this site along financially and because of that we are getting a few extra perks. If you don't want to pay, you don't have to announce it, just don't pay.
And who WTF cares that the GD board was split in two, is it that much of an inconvience. I think it's a great idea. Just goes to show that some people are never happy and will complain about anything under the sun. Jeez, I know the economy has turned south & a few of our peers are having a difficult time on the job front, BUT I think most of us can afford $5 a month to support all the time & effort GB & the others put in to keep this GREAT site running. How much value does all the free information, advice & entertainment that this site provides all the users have for all of us?? I think it's an easy $60 bucks to kick in. In the short time I've been active hear the site just keeps getting better & better. I don't think I like the idea of a seperate members area because I don't want to foster an "us vs. them" attitude. OR an Elitist Members clique vs. the NON members clique. That sounds like a bad path to head down but I guess we'll wait & see what happens. |

Actually, I can be in an argument in one thread with someone and that same person will be answering a question for me in another. Along with replying to my threads, people have called me and e-mailed me regarding questions I've posted to this board. Things have gotten nasty for me at times, and public and private apologies were exchanged. And by the way, it's not necessarily your point of view that can cause people to shun you, it's how you communicate it. Pay money to listen to people talk about shit they dont understand...
