I remember several months ago someone posting a photocopy of a letter they had received from the BATF which affirmed the legality of removing the Colt sear block but now I can't find it.

If someone else has the link, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Curious as to why you would want BATF to ok the removing of the sear block. The block was never required by law to be installed.

OTOH why do you want to remove it? Sell it and buy a quality lower.

Noname-thanks for that great link. Even more than I was hoping for.

Rip-it was to prove a point in a discussion I had with a friend. I already have quality lowers so thanks but no thanks. Since you ask...I haven't seen any reason to remove the block in my rifles but one might want to if they did something as absurd as installing an aftermarket trigger.
