Cracked a smile over this one.

In an article headlined "When Brains Go on
Vacation," the National Rifle Association
ridicules "ludicrous" statements made after the
terrorist attacks.
The November issue of the NRA magazine America's
1st Freedom offers these gems, among others:
NBC "News" morning gabfest host and tabloid cover
boy Matt Lauer saying "pilots are human beings;
they get depressed; they get suicidal; they get
angry. If they're armed, isn't that a formula for
disaster?"
The magazine's response: "Earth to Matt! We
already trust our lives to pilots every single
time we fly. Doesn't it make sense to better equip
them in order to help make us all safer?"
House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, D-Mo.: "I
don't think we need pilots to be trying to be
security officers."
Response: "And we don't think we need career
politicians telling airline captains how they're
allowed to control and secure their ships."
Former gab host Phil Donahue argued that "the
memory" of the terror victims would not be
"honored by going out and killing other
civilians."
Response: "To our knowledge, nobody in the Bush
Administration had advocated 'going out and
killing other civilians.' Incidentally, what would
be your response to the attacks, Phil? Maybe a
nice thank-you note to Osama Bin Laden and an
invitation to dinner?"
