Russian Spammer Murdered

Notorious Russian spammer Vardan Kushnir was found bludgeoned to death in his Moscow apartment on Sunday. He was killed by repeated blows to the head, Russian news agency Interfax reports.

Kushnir, 35, headed the Center for American English, whose aggressive spamming practices have angered net users. In the past the Center’s telephone was advertised as a contact number for "cheap sex services". Separately, disgruntled surfers have blitzed the American English Center with nuisance phone calls and returned e,mail messages. Lawmakers are considering the introduction of anti-spam laws but the practice remains legal in Russia and Kushnir remained defiant about his "right to spam".

The public prosecutions office of Moscow's Central administrative district has yet to establish a motive for Kushnir's death, but is treating the case as murder.

Russia’s Interior Ministry reports 1,935 unsolved murders, 73,000 burglaries and 11,400 robberies between January and May 2005, Mosnews reports.

Yeah a man is dead... but someone apparantly did something that many of us have wanted to do before after deleting 400 emails.

I'm only sorry it wasn't me doing the clubbing. Good luck getting a jury of anybody who's ever used the internet, to convict the man who did it. Assuming the popo even bother trying to catch this internet hero.

After my computer got infected by a virus for the third fucking time, I not only feel no pitty for this man, but a slight twinge of regret that I didn't get to kick him in the balls before he went.

I get approximately 40,000 spam messages a month (several web sites, internet advertising, etc), but murder is not the answer.  You just have to be smarter than them.  Out of those 40,000, my filters (which I have nearly perfected over the years) catch all but about 14 of them, while only mistakenly deleting about 3 wanted emails.  You just have to get POP savvy.

It doesn't bother me none.  We're over populated if you didn't notice and some people I'm pretty sure we'd be better off without.

I've probably spent a total of 8 hours this week with 3 different company's tech support, all based in India and all about as worthless as tits on a hog and about as annoying as a drunk monkey with bagpipes.

All I can say is that I hope the murderer flees to India and goes on a fucking rampage....before I do.

He might have pissed off the mob. Or, it could be that Russia is kind of like the U.S. used to be "back in the day."

When it's painfully, clearly obvious that some malcontent needs bludgeoning to death, men of standing in the community get together - not lowlifes, mind you - have a brief discussion, and then go bludgeon the motherfucker to death.

Yeah, sure, once in a blue moon they'll get the wrong guy or something, but all in all it's a fairly efficient and effective system and people don't generally get bludgeoned for jaywalking. It's usually something fairly odious, long term, and incurable like pedophilia, wife beating, and spamming.

most spammers are into identity theft, denial of service attacks for extortion/sabotage, etc.

he probably ripped off someone who paid him for stolen credit card numbers or something along those lines.
