Given the choice between slavery, or dying resisting those who would enslave, what do you choose?



I realize this is complex.  Without getting bogged down in scenarios and things like "live to fight another day", just pick the one you instictively lean toward when confronted with the question.

For those with families, I know there are additional questions to consider.  Vote your instinct.


...this was meant to build upon the question of "Security or Freedom".  I think this question is a good litmus test.

I didn't think "pie" was original enough.  Plus people who would pick slavery might like the penis.

After considering it for a bit, there are lots of degrees of slavery. From simply being forced to work for no pay, all the way up to being forced to breed with people someone else chooses for you.

All of them are pretty damned abhorrent.

If you got to choose the life you would live before you were born, I know I wouldn't choose slavery. Now that I have lived "free" or as close as you can get to free in this country, I know I wouldn't want to live with any less liberty.

Would I go out alone on a suicide mission if a bit more freedom is incrementally taken from me? Honestly, probably not. Every individual has a certain amount of control they are willing to tolerate, and that imaginary line is drawn in different places for different people.

If, at some point that line is crossed for an overwhelming majority of people, many of them will revolt.

Unfortunately, history has shown us that too often, by the time that line is crossed, the people are incapable of resistance.

Fortunately, nobody has to die without a fight if they don't want to. Even if you are being dragged to the edge of a pit in the ground about to be shot, you can still spit in the eyes of your captors.

If the question really was as simple as it is in the OP, then yes, I'd rather die than be enslaved for the rest of my life.

If there was the tinyest hope of freedom, I'd try to stay alive long enough to be free once again.

Depends.  Some slaves have it great.  Some live in the masters quarters and do the cooking.  Some live in great britain or australia.


To enslave is to initate force or fraud to take another persons liberty.

A state of slavery would be the constant threat and/or use of force to enslave.

And that is exactly why, I have made the decision, that my right to keep and bear arms IS THE LINE IN THE SAND.


I WILL NOT comply with any AWB's that ghouliani or hitlery sign into law.  And I WILL defend my liberty when men with guns come to take my life, liberty, or property in order to enforce such a law.



eta:  I don't mean to sound like an armchair commando.  Its just I've been thinking about this more recently with all the talk about the election.  I've been thinking about where that line is drawn.

I don't like to think about it because my wife depends on me and I love her very much.  But there has to be a line drawn somewhere.

Its to continue the discussion of security versus freedom.  It makes a valid point.


I may have done a little "chest pounding" already.  But sometime people need to vent when they see the possibility of our great nation going down the fucking tubes and being taken over by socialist fucks who our fathers and grandfathers spent the entire 20th century fighting.


eta:  I'd also like to think that I am man enough to do the right thing.  Not because I think doing the right thing makes you some kind of "internet hero", but because doing the right thing makes you a decent and honorable human fucking being.

What's doing the right thing?  You have two choices.

1) You resist something that you believe to be wrong.  You fight against the oppressors (in this case the government).  You have a slim to no chance of winning.   You do it however because every cause started with one person saying "NO!", its just you will most likely die in the effort and have your family destroyed.

2) You suck it up.  You take your beating and say things like "Yes, Sir" and "No, Sir" and give them everything they ask for.  Why do you do this?  Because you made a promise to your wife and children that you would take care of them and you can't do that from prison or a hole in the ground.

This isn't about right - its about what you can do and if you can still look at yourself in the morning after you do it.

That being said I believe that is is better you die my way that you live some else's.

Death by penis or penis slavery?

Basically the choices are a quick death, or a slow painful death as a slave. The choice is quit simple for me and my family if the those were the only options to choose from.

Death is the ONLY real option

I voted death.  But I could see being a sex slave if she's hot enough.  And rich.
