I'm thing about getting a M-9 LNIB w/five highcaps for $475.00.

Looking for some last min. feed back befor I do the deal.

Any of you guys have/had one?

a2, by "M-9" I assume you mean a Beretta 92F.

Make sure those hi-caps are Beretta factory mags and not cheapo aftermarket.

If that pistol is really LNIB, then that's a pretty deal.

3 are cheap 15 rounders but the other 2 are factory 20rounders[:)]
Could I just use the 3 for range mags?

PS:it is a Beretta 92 but it;s the one with military marks so evrybody calls it a M-9.

Shoot the gun first.  It should be a good, accurate, very reliable gun with a nice trigger, reeking of history as the standard sidearm of the US military, made by the oldest commercial concern on the planet.  But it wouldn't hurt to run a mag or two through it just to make sure it's really LNIB.

a2, I've never heard of Beretta factory 20rd. mags, but then again most of my experience with the M9 was in the military (standard mag is 15rds.).

I would think that pistol originally came with two 15rd. factory mags.

Since the deal includes 3 mags of dubious quality, $475 is probably an "OK" price, but it's not a SUPER deal.

Thye 20 rounders don't stick out or anything,is there some other way the you know of to tell?

If they were 20 rnders,they would definately stickout.I would bet you've got factory 15 rnd mags.

Here is a factory 20 rounder also.It stick out about a 11/2"

a2, if they don't extend below the grip, they are probably the original 15rd. Beretta mags. that came with the pistol.  And they are good!

I am NO Beretta expert!  But, this sounds like an "OK" deal at best!

Check it over carefully and offer less.  If your friend thinks those aftermarket mags are SO valuable, tell him to keep them to sell seperately and base your offer on what you think the pistol and the two ORIGINAL magazines are worth.

I recommend the M9.  I purchased one and was amazed how easy it was to shoot.  The standard trigger is not competion smooth but that can be helped by a good gunsmith without destroying its reliability.  This pistol is designed for a service life of 30,000 rounds of +P+ (NATO) ammunition.  Aftermarket sites can be added if you wish.

I like how the Beretta fits my hand and I shoot well with it.  Straight out of the box, It will group Speer Gold-Dots into 4 inches at 25 meters with me doing my part.

P. Beretta high cap mags are 15 rounds and can be found quite easliy at gun shows and the like.  Prices vary depending on the needs of the seller; they range from $20 to $50.  My guess is the 20 rounders are aftermarket, unless the are Beretta marked.  If so, then I learned something new today.

The M9 runs about $560 new from dealers willing to give a little.  You are not getting hurt at $475 for a LNIB pistol.  The magazines are a gimme unless they are P. Beretta marked.

I saw nib m-9'S WITH 1 FACTORY HIGH CAP FOR 489 IN THE LAST GuN SHOW!!

The factory 15rd mags I have are marked PB CAL 9 PARA on the mag bodies, not the floorplates. Are different batches of factory mags marked differently?

Yes, Beretta did sell factory 20 round magazines.  They were originally made for the Model 93 machine pistol but also work in the 92 series.  I don't know if they still make the 20 rounders for LEOs.

BTW, the gun used by the cyborg Officer Murphy in the movie [i]Robocop[/i] was a modified Beretta 93.
