NASA usually just puts them anyplace convenient. Most civil DC-9s have the registration numbers on the nacelles, so that's where NASA has them.

Looks like a DC-9 dash 30 to me.  Wonder if it still has an iron panel.

Both elevator halves are in synch, often they are not while not in flight.

Flaps and slats are deployed, the larboard wing shadow is obscured by the water on the ground.

I want one.
