I have been shavibg for years now with an electric shaver and i just went back to using a razor for a much better shave....

Can anyone tell me what the best razor out there?  I see the Mach3, Gillette fusion, and whats with all this POWER stuff now?  Why does my razor need a battery?  And holy cow...$30 for 8 refills?

What do YOU use and why?

Safety razor. Those modern mach3, turbo4 or whatever the hell there called don't work for me. They dull fast and the 3 and 4 blades get clogged with hair.

I use a disposable with the soap/brush.  I take the brush and put hot water on it, then I lather up the soap in the cup.  I am considering ordering a safety razor. The shave is supposed to be good.  I know that I can use the disp. razors twice as long when I use the shaving soap vs. the shaving gel. That stuff is a ripoff.

Regular soap and a disposable single blade razor. Anything else is a phenominal waste of money in my opinion.

A Remington electric beard trimmer.  It's close enough, and non-irritating.  Razors suck, and continually cost you money, not to mention shaving cream, aftershave, etc.

I use a norelco because it causes less irritation when i use it everyday before work. If i have 2 or mre days off in a row i will use my gillette fusion. My friend gave me a tip on keeping those expensive blades sharp on your refillable razors. Store the blades in water once you start using them and they stay sharper much longer. He said something about it gets dull from drying out everytime after shaving. Its been awile since I've started that process soo i can't remember exactly how much longer they last but hey give it a try and let me know

Gillette Atra w/o lube strip and medicated soap.

I change out the blade every two weeks and buy my refills (three 10 packs at a time) from "shavethis.com".
This works out to around $25.00 per year for shaving.

The new "HiTech" stuff is just a corporate conspiracy to fleece the sheeple.

SensorExcel with the 3-bladed refills and just plenty of hot water. I gave up on shaving cream about a year ago. My face doesn't get as dry after shaving as before.

Tried the Gillette Fusion when they sent me a free one in the mail. Really does give a great shave but I can't afford the damned cartridges. Well, let's say there's no way in hell I'll pay that much. I'm using the Schick Quattro which is ok. My face just doesn't do well with shaving. Unfortunately it does worse without. I used a Braun electric for a while but I have yet to find an electric that shaves worth a damn.

Gillette vintage single blade with Jap or German razors.

Those 3-4 razor-plastic-battery jobs suck...you guys with sensitve skin need to try single blade with proper technique.

Braun, I think I actually bought my first one while stationed in Germany over 20 years ago
