We're stuck with natural gas... Our small place consumes about $300 worth or so a month. It makes me sick to my stomach, just watching that money go up the chimney.
I thought about converting to LP, but it doesn't appear as if there would be any benefit to it.
I have a wood stove in the basement, but no stovepipe hung outside yet. Last quote I got was over $2000 for 30ft of triple wall stainless...
With a cord of split firewood now up to $149 around here, It almost doesn't seem worth the trouble unless I cut the damn trees down and split them myself.
Looks like we're just 'gonna keep paying the damn gas company whatever they decide to charge. I think we will be buying some blankets and electric space heaters this season.
I almost wonder if I should install a few baseboard electric heaters throughout the house... I never thought I'd see the day when it's cheaper to heat a home with electric heat.
