Don't you love those little self proclaimed Democrats who have no idea wtf is going on...
I'm in high school and there are a bunch of little kids who run around saying republicans are dumb and just say "bush is dumb" every three seconds.

I got into and argument that went as usual today with one of these bird brains and the said democrats are way better than republicans and that republicans are stupid!!!!

I said O.K. your entitled to your opinion.... but what do democrats believe in?

His reply " I dunno... Bush is dumb"

Seriously these people need to castrate themselves so they don't breed into society...
It's ok to have a opinion that you stand by... IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT

I run across adults who are just as much clueless as these high school students.

They think if they talk loud and say things such as, "All Clinton did was get a BJ, look what Bush has done!"  or "Bush is an idiot!"

They say these things real loud when you try discuss facts.  If you present them with something they can not explain, they say these thing even louder.

My favorite was a lady saying the all so normal, "Bush is an idiot."  This after I dismantled everything she had to say about the data we had leading up to the Iraq war.  She had no response so fell back on that.  At this point I just have fun and start asking stuff like, "I'm sorry, what year did you graduate from Yale?"  or "How much money did you make last year."

Yeah that part is a rant... but my main point was I said your entitled to your opinion but what do democrats believe in? And the thing that came outta this guy who had been strenuously arguing with me for the last thirty minutes how republicans are bad and democrats are good yet he didn't even know what the party he was supporting believes in.

Can you explain what Republicans "believe in"?

It sure isn't "small government" anymore...

Well said.

I do however, feel your pain on the discussion part.  I run into this all the time.

Me: "Why do you like that candidate?"

Them: "Republicans are stupid!"

Me:  "Okay, but WHY do YOU like your candidate?  What will he do better for you and the country?"

Them: "All Republicans are idiots!"

Seriously, it's like a f**king pre-school nanner-nanner conversation.  I fully expect one of these idiots to say, "I know you are but what am I!?"

Pretty hard to have a "discussion" with a parrot.

Kids right now aren't really "aware" of any political issues except for Iraq. To them it's simple, Bush = Iraq, Democrats = No Iraq. It's nowhere near that simple (or even close to true, at this point) but thats still how they see it.

It's been said on this site before, but it still applies. Bush has done a good job of killing the GOP, at least for a few years.

I am no big fan of Bush.  However, whenever I hear the "Bush is Dumb" rant, I have to reply: "Really, when did you get a MBA from Harvard?".

That is a master's degree from Harvard.  Almost none of the "Bush is Dumb" types have a BS or BA, let alone a master's.

Yah pretty much hit it right there...  Right now (for the last 10-15 years) democrats have not believed in anything, they just don't believe in stuff.  They don't have solutions to problems, they are just against what is going on or being done.

It is a much easier if worthless position.

There's a guy I work with who throws out the "Bush is an idiot" line every now and then, so one day I asked him "why?"
"he just is" was his answer.
"what do you mean he just is?", says me.
"He's just an idiot" he answers again.
So we go around in circles like this for a while and he never can tell me why Bush is an idiot. I have my own disagreements with the President, but at least I can articulate them.
After getting to know this guy a little better, what it appears to come down to is he has heard other people  say Bush is an idiot, and because of what he hears constantly in the media, he believes everyone in the country thinks that way. He is just agreeing with the so-called "common wisdom".
He has the same attitude about guns, saying "I support the 2nd amendment, but no one needs an AK-47". I ask him why and he not only can't answer, after some discussion it turns out he has no clue whatsoever what an "AK-47" actually is. He can't even identify one on sight. He says things like this because he has been lead to believe this is the way enlightened, reasonable people think on the issue, and he considers himself one of those people. It has nothing to do with informing himself and then making a decision.
I can deal with people having opinions in opposition to mine, but in the case of this guy at work, in my estimation he doesn't have a real opinion - he is doing nothing more than being a parrot on the bandwagon. I can deal with that too, but I am not nearly as cordial about it.

True, but some of the more...uh...'enlightened' ones will comeback with something like "Sure, he got into Harvard - but only because his Daddy was head of the CIA"

IMHO I think Bush is extremely intelligent in real life...he just plays stupid on tv to cater to 'his base'. Also, he may be clueless/has made some major misjudgements.

The split was initiated by the Democrats via the politics of personal destruction they started during the Clinton era.  Clinton never believed in debate and the idea of 'agreeing to disagree'; he wanted to destroy his political opponents.  I saw a lot of the same partisan BS by the Democrats when I lived in Kalifornistan.  Clinton would have destroyed this country if he had kept his zipper up...

Take a hard look at who is spouting the most inflammatory rhetoric - it will almost invariably be a Democrat - or Ann Coulter...

Wow do you live in a bubble?  I mean seriously -- you are a perfect exapmle of what I'm talking about ...  thanks for proving my point!

The Dems may have started it, but the Republicans pushed it to where it is today.

Stuff like FOX News and people like Sean Hannity pushing the divide every chance they can get. Don't forget how much the Republicans attacked Clinton (even before his affair) - people like Rush and Gingrich, etc.

I'm conservative (but not Republican) and to try and paint the Republicans as better than the Dems is simply ludicrous. The Dems may be socialists...but the Republicans have a lot of strikes against them as well - everything from violating civil rights/privacy (i.e. Terry Schiavo, certain sections of the PATRIOT ACT, etc.) to corruption (i.e. Alberto Gonzales firing the federal attorneys, Larry Craig nonsense, etc.) and many other things I can't think of off the top of my head at the moment.

In the end, they both suck, and every election is simply tantamount to choosing the lesser of two evils unfortunately.
