Hit the poll and tell me what you think. We are going for the big names, not small/custom firms like STI or Wilson, etc.

I say the SigPRO. I have shot all the polys out there I own a Glock, and the SigPRO is, IHMO the best poly gun.

Well I've only really played around with the XD and the Glock (have fondled a few HK's but never shot) pistols so my opinion is very small on this.....so consider this a tag.

But in my limited experience, Glock by far.

I forgot about the XD, that can go under "Beretta/Other" I guess. Oops!

I like Glock.  I don't like the high bore axis on sigs and hks.

Eh, I just meant best for defense, CCW, range only toy, etc etc.

I still pick Glock.

SA in my opinion.  If they ever release the XD in 10mm, I'll be that much more certain.

Yeah, I'd have to buy one. I wish I could get a SigPRO in  .45 ACP or 10mm.

If they ever released one in 10mm I would jack off to it every night.

What stops you from jacking off every night anyways?

Lack of an external safety.

Even though I got rid of my Glock because of the incorrect (for me) grip angle and toy-like trigger, they are very dependable weapons.

I liked my G17, but I like my HK USPc better. Both have been 100% reliable.

This one is tough.  I own or have owned a Glock 23, a Walther P99 9mm, a SA XD-45, an HK USP40 and USP9c, and SigPro 2340 in .40 and a Pro 2009, and I liked them all for various reasons.

Ultimately I'm with the OP, I have to go with the SigPro.  It's an all around great pistol.

HK's are far more enjoyable to shoot and own than Glocks.  Glocks are ok though.

I'm convinced if you gave everyone a choice between an HK or Glock side by side and they could try both, they'd take the HK.

It's price and publicity that make Glock better known, that's it.

first maybe.... best no unless your counting their PR department.

XD for me.

while I agree that the XD is a fine weapon.  I prefer the thumb safety/versatility offered by the USP.

I'd give the accuracy edge to the USP series as well.

Overall I think the G19 is the best handgun made.

This takes everything into consideration.

I didn't feel this way until I learned how simple the glock design is.
Try fully stripping an HK and then try fully field stripping a glock and tell me which one you'd want for SHTF.

I would have said Walther if the trigger pull didn't suck so bad.

Tentatively, I gotta go with Glock. However, I had the opportunity to shoot an XD, and with a little more trigger time, it might just become my new favorite polymer pistol. It's too early for me to tell just yet.

That damn thing is comfy.

I have 3 polymer pistols Glock 19 S&W M&P 9 and a Walther P99

I think the Walther is the best it has useful features the Glock and Smith do not have.

Glock, with the XD coming in second, HK coming in third, etc.  I haven't had experience with SIG, Beretta, Walther or S&W polymer guns.  Most of the handguns I've shot had metal frames.

The reason Glocks are used in movies so much is that they work very well with blanks.

Interesting, I didn't know that.  Why do they work so well with blanks ?  Do the barrels have to be modified to cycle with blanks ?
