I know that E.T.H. passed away about a year ago this week, and I didn't see a thread honoring our late friend on here. I just wanted to take a moment and remember a great guy; one who always had a fantastic sense of humor, offered up good advice, and was a wonderful part of AR15.COM.
Here's to you Wayne! |
Yes. And there is a thread or two here that could use him too.
I'ts been a year? I shure wish I would have gott my butt to one of the gatherings.
I know it. I was at Gunstock '05 (weak turn out) and my next planned TX trip was to the Hun Farm for a get together. Never made it to the Farm |
RIP Wayne. Glad I met him a few times over the years. A true gentleman.
There was talk in the Texas HTF of trying to find another place in or around Crowell to have a get-together/shoot in his memory, but it hasn't really come together.
The Hun Farm was one of my top three destinations to go some day. ETH was a great guy.
RIP, Wayne. Oh, and Fuck you, ARock, for the things you said about him after he died. You, his supposed fucking friend. |
Didnt agree with him 100% of the time, but I did respect him 100% of the time.
Man I am sad, i am very happy to say that i went to his memorial shoot and camped with Ilikelegs and Woodbucher and invisiblesoul etc.........
I live about an hour from the Hunfarm and wish i could offer up a solution but, I can't. R.I.P Wayne thanks, for the short time i knew you and Thanks for the trip. Jim |
I never had the pleasure of meeting Wayne in person; but from what he has wriiten here I know he was truly a fine human being.
Rest in peace. |
There were a few posts going for a get together in his honor but it hasn't materialized.
Another post discussed to trying to find another place we could continue this great tradition that Wayne fostered and loved very much. Stay tuned to the Texas HT forum. Wayne is a great friend and was there for me when my twin sister passed away just three short months before our beloved friend did also. I had the honor of being a pole bearer at his service and have been to Crowell a few times to visit his place or resting. We all miss him very much and I feel in my heart he is will always be with us. I miss you Wayne, my friend and brother. |
Hard to believe it's been that long. He sure is missed around here. He was a good friend.
RIP Wayne |
He was a brilliant and a genuinely nice guy.
He had an immensely strong faith, and I'd bet that more than a few people were helped and inspired by it. This place will never be the same without him. |
Sorry we didn't invite y'all into our thread.
Didn't even think about it. ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=8&t=281640 My apologies. An oversight, not any kind of commentary. |
I wish I'd met him. I truly miss his posts.
I know he's resting in peace. |
meh, nm. |
With the Masonic and Liberty threads going, I've been thinking of him a lot. We emailed a bit, and were proud to call each other Brother.
He's probably up there with Scooter sucking down some Windex right now. Blue skies, Wayne.[ |
Goddamnit when did that happen?!?
How? He'll be missed, he was a great guy. |
+1 I never met Wayne but did chat with him several times in ARFCOM IRC chat. He seemed a nice and honorable man and he is missed by many. On a related note, we have a wonderful troll in chat who decided that mocking ETH, ala AROCK style, was appropriate. This was him earlier tonight: 75.37.39.Oi72: <Eric_The_Dead_Hun> erics dead and rotting in the fucking grave, get over it <Eric_The_Dead_Hun> !!!!!!!!! <Eric_The_Dead_Hun> Heil Hitler!!!!!! Some people have no fucking shame. |
Smells like a Firemission™ to me. That's just straight-up bullshit right there. |
I wish he was still around.
Not everyday a legend passes from us. |
I never had the chance to meet him, but he sounds like a helluva guy. He's probably smiling down on everyone right now.
I remember how he signed off on one of his last posts: EricThe(Everlasting!)Hun ETA: At least I seem to remember it being one of his last posts. |
I'm sitting here in my Gunstock '03 t-shirt. It was that event that triggered the FU Arock festivities.
I spoke on the phone with Wayne about DonR and Arock and all the bullshit. He was, as always, non-judgmentatl and just gave me the facts of what happened in his great story-telling manner. I miss him greatly and the Hun Farm gathering too! R.I.P. Wayne |
I never met Wayne face to face, and one of my big regrets is never making it to the Hun Farm. Work just kept getting in the way of things.
I spoke with him on the phone a bit, and he truly helped me with a coupla legal battles. Thank you, Wayne. |
Every now and then a thread shows up that reminds me of the true and pure pwnage he used to hand out. Sorely missed, and I'm sure that most people who encountered him would say the same thing.
For those that don't know me that well, I had been asked to be one of the staff at Gunstock #1 (NOT to be confused with the Black Rifle Convention), but I had been out of work for a long time, and I got the offer on Tuesday, asking me to be in Wednesday, and I had been supposed to be down in Texas on Thursday. Short notice, but I had to beg off.
The job sucked, did not pay well, and I wound up regretting being associated with them. Talk about regretting a decision, when you had thought it was the right thing to do. |
I never got to meet him, and I really miss his posts.
He was a good man that is missed. |
Best friend Texas and the DFW crew ever had.
Never could be replaced. RIP Wayne. |
Time flies. Cya Wayne..am going to go out and toast you with a Margarita..
Good guy, I liked the photos of him receiving the DeWalt AR in appreciation for letting Gunstock be held at the family farm.
well, that cretin's ip is now banned from chat. |
