The 2 soldiers were members of the military intelligence. Yesterday night were abducted by supposed Talibans.

This morning a commando composed by elements of the SAS 22 rgt. and 9 Italian Paracommando btg. "Col Moschin" stormed the position and liberated the two hostages, killing NINE Talibans.

The 22nd. SAS troopers went in, the 9 Paracommando hit and secured the external perimeter.

One of the soldiers was seriously wounded by his abductors, the other was hit too but his conditions are not worring the doctors.

Thanks to the men of the Regiment, and once in a while I am glad that this time we used also our brave SF, despite our spineless politicians.

I cannot tell the source, but it is DIRECT from a SF in Afghanistan. Since the 9 Paracommando trains very often with SAS, it is possible that also our soldiers went in and shot the Talibans alongside their British counterpart.

This makes me so HAPPY...

Remeber that last time our "elighted" Ministy of Foreign Affair did not wanted to use our SF or the SAS (the Mastrogiacomo affair...) even if our intelligence knew where our hostage was held in the first 24 hours and a SAS unit was offered to make the raid.

This time we showed that even us italians are NOT willing to pay any ransom anymore...
I HOPE!!!

Paolo, my father served as a Bersaglieiri in Libya then spent the rest of WW2 as a forced guest of Gran Bretagna, I wiish someone would post pics of them in action today in the middle east with their "cockades".

Don't #%$@ with anyone who is close enough with the Brits to get the SAS involved.

Glad to hear the meatballers are safe.
