I was informed today that I have to go to Chicago for 3 weeks on business. Flying is not an option, I don't want to go through the hassle, so I'm renting a car for the trip. I'll be going from Texas, through Arkansas, Missouri, and be in Illinois. I would not like to travel without some protection, but am concerned about what weapon would be the least hassle. Handguns are alright in Texas as far as traveling goes, long guns are no problem. Can any of you guys in Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois fill me in on what is acceptable in your states?

TX has reciprocity with AR for CCWs (if you have one)...once outside of TX (& AR if you have a CCW) be extremely careful as local areas & cops may have their own laws.
