I was talking to a friend of mine tonight about Kalifornia and he offered this up to me.

He said that gun control in Kalifornia is nothing more than a way for the state to get its cut of the firearms market.
SB23 was not about getting the firearms off the street, it was about making money off of gun owners by way of "taxing" a product that you already own.
The handgun registration bill?
Nothing more than a way to collect money on both the firearm and the "liscense" to own one.
The "junk gun" law and handgun test?
A way to force cheaper handguns off the market, a way to force current owners of non-compliant handguns to dump them and buy new handguns (thereby paying the "taxes" on that new firearm.

He did concede the fact that firearms registration leads to confiscation. He does stand fast in his belief that firearms confiscation will never happen en masse in Kalifornia. There are too many firearms out there.

Just something to think about.

After seeing what they did to the power companies with their form of "deregulation", I believe they want to be gun brokers.  They force all gun stores out of business, and then create state run gun stores.  

Socialism? Communism?  Where is this going?
