308 lbs. Oh I meant Winchester I assume.

Nice setup and may I ask what brand is the case?

You'll all know about her as soon as I do.  She just arrived today and haven't had a chance to start the break in.  BTW, that Starlight case only cost me $90 and I still can't find the factory defect that made it so cheap.  Rain kept me from christening her today.
ASR, she's a .300win.

It's a Remington 700P .300 win mag.
Springfield Armory 6-20x56 3rd. generation scope with illuminated mil-dot reticle.
Leupold rings and mounts.
Harris swiveling bipod.
Starlight case.

Additions coming soon: blackhawk stock pack with cheekpad, teflon coating, and (in a couple months) McMillan A4 stock.

Guys did you like the SA scope?  I was not impressed with the SA scope at all.  Maybe I just got a dud or something. Other than the scope you have a fine looking firearm!

Cypher214,

One more question, what is the model number of the case and where did you get it for $90?

Thanks,

ASR

It's a HK UMP 45 full-auto to cover our a@# when Cypher214 uses his toy to take out important hostiles and the .45 is there to make sure those who come running it would send some 30 .45 slugs per mag to send them to the holy garden they want to see.

Very Nice!

So +P ammo no problem?
Link Posted: 10/11/2001 11:47:25 PM EDT
[#24]
+P No problem, just like most HKs - These are to replace the MP5's but in USA MP5 9mm might not be replaced and hence you might only see these in .40 or .45.  The Gun it much lighter and easy to maintain and very simple and solid. But with .45 it rocks, but you learn to control it much better the more you shoot!  I think the LEO's will prefer the .40.  But the .45 really is sweet. Just like the Thompson is sweet to shoot because of .45 . Singel Shot with Aimpoint is sweet. Great one to clear rooms.

Starlight had some "factory seconds" double rifle cases.  They supposedly had a defect in them somewhere.  I have looked the case over very carefully and can't find a single thing wrong with it.
I haven't shot the rifle yet but the scope is very clear and has all the features I wanted in a scope for a price I could afford.  If Leupold made a scope with the same features and a price like that or even a little higher, I woulda got the Leupold hands down.  Only time will tell as to whether the scope is high quality or not.  I have heard good and bad things about the SA scopes.
The case was ordered factory direct but I wouldn't be surprised if the $90 special is over.  When I bought mine, they only had 9 left.
Leaving in a couple hours to start breaking her in.  Can't wait to see how she shoots.

I found the ad on Snipercountry.com classifieds.  Place is called Frank's Gun Shop in Texas.  He had several in diff. calibers.  They are all NIB and the .308 is $675 + $15 shipping.  Mine was $690.  I'm providing a link for anyone who wants that deal...

Is there any advantage to the 300 win mag over the 308?

Flatter trajectory at extended ranges and higher velocity.  I went with the .300 because this will be one of my deer hunting rifles.  I like to have alot of knockdown power.
