My eyes seem to unfocus by their own free will whenever I try reading anything written in legalese [%|]. So interpreting the new Demilitarized Equipment section of the S. 1438 bill which just passed the Senate (the one which would make the owners of certain mil surplused equipment criminals) is just about impossible. Would this law, if passed, as it stands today, effect the civilian possession of surplus USGI magazines?

I'm keeping all my mags. They were not made for the military, they were made for AR15's. Not M16's.

Yes
They are surplus and "significant"
M14 and M16 mags will be outlawed.
I guess we can all use USA mags.

I don't own anything on the list since all my guns were made for the civilian market rather than former military. As far as mags., they have no way of proving the mags. were ever theirs. Remember Magazines have no markers to identify them as former USGI.

cc, I see your point. Mags aren't exactly stamped "Property of US Government". They'd have to prove that the entire run of the type of mag you have from a given manufacturer was for USGI use and subsequently surplused. If any were sold overseas or to the civilian market then nothing could be proved. Still, it's whole possible can of worms and exactly the angle that Feinstein and crowd would take.

I just sent my letter to my Representative. This bill passed in the Senate, but has to make it through the house. We need to force scrutiny of this bill should it make it that far. America is about goverment by the people for the people and of the people. We all have a voice. Use yours!

Write, call, fax, and email your elected officals!!!!!!!!! If you don't try and stop it you wouldn't have a right to complain if it gets passed!

Actually mags are marked and certain manufactures [b]never[/b] sold their mags to the general public, only the DoD!
