I have been noticing a lot of new Virginia folks around here. How many do we have?
How many of you are ex-yankees? Or should I say Damn Yankees? |
|
Born and raised in Virginia so don't be calling me a DAMN YANKEE. [;)]
|
|
Yall from around here too?
Now if you live North of the James River, It don't count. Welcome to the "Heart Of Virginia" |

You would have to be a "Damn Yankee" in VA to understand.
Being that I am a Damn Yankee for 10 yrs. now. I was just curios to see how many on this site were hiding out here in VA.[uzi] |
|
I lived my whole life in VA. Born in Harrisonburg, lived in Stanardsville, now live in Blacksburg.
Go Hokies! |
|
Another Virginian here. I was born south of the Mason-Dixon line, though not in VA.
North of the James? Ok, so I guess that pretty much excludes most of the Shenandoah valley??? Seems strange for the "breadbasket of the confederacy" to not count [:P] |
|
Raised in Northern VA (may as well be a different state). I've lived in the City of Richmond for 8 years.
|
|
Been a "Damn Yankee" for about 6 years now. As far as I am concerned, they can put up a fence and keep the rest of 'em out!!
Once asked a "good ol' boy" if my twins were born here, would that make them "southern". He told me, "Hell no. If the cat dropped a litter in the oven, we wouldn't call 'em biscuits!" And THAT'S why I like it here! |
|
Checkout the post where Goatboy lists the members and which state they are from. Virginia has around 450 listed and I believe it ranks around 4 or 5 in the list.

Yorktown, VA reporting in. I live only 3 miles from the site where we stuck it to the British. Damn proud and wondering when we're going to do it again.
Right now I am in Georgia, Ft. Benning to be exact, but Virginia is my home. |
|
born and raised north of the Mason-Dixon. Transported all over this great land in the service of MY COUNTRY all of it not just the north or the south. I currently reside in NOVA (northern Virginia) by choice. VA is cool, I have been stationed about 18 different places and do indeed prefer more southerly climes. Retirement is on the horizon and we will be headed a little farther south into the heart of
VA and the mountains. TRW edited because I still spell like crap TRW |

Arlington, VA here....
Moved from Peoples Republik of MD in March (Thank GOD). Just went to Arlington Courthouse for my marriage cert......and carry permit!!! Woohoo! Bulldog OUT Edited to ask: WHEN IS THE NEXT VIRGINIA AR15.COM SHOOT? |
|
Centreville, VA here (northern VA). Born and raised in southwest VA, though, and went to college in Blacksburg.
I live up here, but my heart is back "home" with the "educated" folks. Nice to be near an ice rink, but this is probably as liberal as VA gets (with the possible exception of the Norfolk/Hampton area). AR15.com shoot? Where are they normally held? |
|
Yo!
South Stafford, County. Moved here five years ago from Southern California. Just couldn't take it there any more. Moving here was the best decision we ever made. [soapbox] |
|
Born south of the M-D line, never lived north of it and never plan to.
|
|
Live in the mountains, I think these'uns are in Virginia. Us Appalachian-Americans don't git down into the flatlands much...[:E]

Old South from Way Back....
Northern VA near the Potomac now. For you history buffs, I live on the road Lee used after crossing back into VA during his withdrawal from Gettysburg. Originally from South Carolina. "Where Dixie Began". |
|
I grew up in the western 55 counties of Virginia (WV). We were forcefully seperated from our motherland during the war of northern agression. If we asked nicely, would you take us back?

Born and raised in VA beach, got the hell out three years ago, now in Buckingham County with my FFL and SOT "hint hint".

Anyone know of any places not too far away? View Quote Sorry dude but travel is a requirement if you live in our area and want to shoot FA. I've been told that the NRA range allows FA after hours and you have to setup the time before hand. There is a place in Gore VA (The Cove) which is 30 mins west of Winchester. They have a park, you pay to get in, and they have about a 75 yard range. Nothing pretty. Just a piece in the forest about 10 yards wide. Found it jeeping. West of Harrisonburg in WV there is a 100 yard range (west side shooting range.) Nice place but you have to fill out a .20 form to cross the state line. That is pretty much it unless you know someone with LAND. A few people southwest of Richmond have some land and occasionally hold shoots. I'm going to one this Saturday after the Richmond gun show. Check out the meetings forum if you want more info. Welcome to AR15. |

Raised (don't want to claim grew up) in Fincastle. Mom still lives in Roanoke.

Temporarily living in Powhatan for a few years. |

Soon soon soon. [bounce]
Just a little while longer. Huh? There's somethin' wrong with Yankees? Nm |

Hope you folks can keep Warner from getting elected. I think he is a Glendenning clone--runs as a fiscal conservative but he will be a free-spending, gun-grabbing governor once he is elected.

Virginia Beach here as well. I will also be shooting everyday this week at the Lynnhaven indoor range (weekdays) and the outdoor range sometime this weekend. Anybody who wants to join me, let me know.
