Saw a Mercedes get cut off and fish tail.  He swerved and hit the median.  I was the only one that stopped.  Talked with the Highway Patrol and filled out a statement.  When an accident happens, does anyone else stop?

If someone might be hurt I stop. I always call 911 on the cell phone, anyway.

Two weekends ago we found a dead guy upside down in the woods, in his Blazer, off a dirt road in a rural agriculture/hunting area. A lady happened to spot the vehicle, and drove up and down by the land I was hunting on beeping her horn until someone came out. It was too late for him, and we could not figure out how the hell he ended up where he did. I left the HP and the other pros to their work and went back to hunt. But I was still wondering what the hell happened to him.

I always stop if I witness or come upon an accident where no one has rendered aid yet.  I've seen some hairy ones, like an 18 wheeler that t-boned a Honda Civic (was the Civic's fault) that everyone walked away from.

I used to just pass right by if it was obviously small and  non injury. Sadly it took bad sh!t happening to me to make me change. lady runs a red light running perpedicular to me, I t-bone her no one stops. cops show up i tell them she ran red she tells them i ran the red. Cop tells us basicly one of us can stop lying or we can both screw ourselves and claim it on our own insurance. thats what happened she wouldn't give an inch, after 30 minutes arguing in 105degree heat cop tore up the report he was filling out, gave us his card and left. I'll always stop now in hopes i can help maybe once someone from being a thousand dollar deductible victim of white-trash-meth-scum like her.

LEO's had the intersection near my house blocked off when I was trying to get home a few weeks ago.  I had to go around the block and come up the road from the opposite direction to get to my house.  There was a car up on the lawn a few houses away from me that had gotten t-boned.  I walked over and stayed about 25yards back from the crash.  Then a guy in civilian clothes started yelling at me to get out of there as it was a crime scene.  I was about to ask him who he was as he had no badge or other LEO ID when I was escorted away by a uniformed LEO. I asked this guy why it was a crime scene? At this point I was concerned that someone they were chasing may have bailed out after crashing and might be running around the neighborhood.  After all, they were escorting me out of a "crime scene."   The LEO was getting pissed at my questions and told me "it's a crime scene just like NYC only smaller."  The guy was being an egotistical jerk.  It seemed as if they wanted me out of there because they were trying to hide something.  I was just concerned, I had to go to work and my teenage kids would be home alone. I didn't know if there was a problem in the neighborhood, or if this was just a serious motor vehicle accident.  All they had to do is politely say sir could you move back farther as we are invistigating an accident.  These guys need to learn a little tact.

My sister and I were going to spend Christmas Eve at our Aunt and Uncle's. There was a snow/ice storm that blew through ealier in the day and the roads were $h&t. We really shouldn't have been out, but it was a special occasion.

As we pull up to the hiway, but about a half a block away yet, a Monte Carlo comes zipping by. He must have been doing 50-55, well past the safe limits for conditions. I was approaching doing 15 in a 25 mph zone.

Just as he gets to the intersection his car swaps ends. WOW! But it's okay.[:)] He came to a stop. With a power pole firmly imbedded in the middle of his trunk.

As we get to the stop sign he gets out and storms back to the back of his car. Boy, was he [b]PISSED[/b]! I tell my sis "He looks okay to me." I smile and wave at him as I drive on by.

I didn't figure he was going anywhere soon and the cops weren't going to have any problem figuring out what happened. hehehe

I came up on a wreck last Tuesday as I was leaving class. A 16 year old kid in a full size Chevy truck ran a stop sign and was t-boned by a Dodge dually pulling a 16' flatbed going down the highway at probably 55-65mph. The Chevy was knocked off the road and into a small ditch where it began to roll. At some point the kid was ejected from the truck and when the truck came to rest upside down, after rolling one and a half times, the cab was crushing the 16 year old from the shoulders up. The Dodges momentum carried it into the upside down Chevy and it actually drove up and the front wheels were parked on top of it.

I stopped and ran over and it was obvious that the kid had been killed instantly and the driver of the Dodge walked away. The dually had a brushguard on front and it looked driveable after the accident. Even if the driver of the Chevy had not been ejected I would find it hard to believe that he could have lived because his truck was so badly mangled, with basically no room to live inside the cab, or what was left of it anyways.

That is the second worst wreck I have came across. The other was a car that swerved into oncomming traffic and was hit head-on by an 18 wheeler, but that is another story....

I always stop for accidents. I've been in a few myself, and sometimes people just drive by honking their horns.

People like that just piss me off.
