I have $1,000 burning a hole in my pocket. I have a decent savings, and I've made excellent progress on getting out of debt, so I really feel the need to at least part of this on gun stuff.

However, I am not sure which direction to take. Here are my choices:

1. More HK USC Mags. I only have 3 right now, and I should probably grab some more before they stop importing them again and they get harder to find.

2. A light for my USC. A light would make my USC THE most tacticool carbine on my block.

3. Another 5.56 upper. I have 2 ARs right now, but only 1 is 5.56. The other AR has a big bore upper which I almost never shoot. I've been thinking that it'd be nice to put a 5.56 upper on it so that I can have a spare 5.56 rifle (since I've got all this 5.56 ammo), and so that I can have a different rifle to shoot so that I don't just wear out my other 5.56 rifle.

4. Another Garand. Come on, is there such a thing as too many Garands?

5. More Greek .30-06 ammo

Which way would you guys go?

I'd go buy your dad something cool.   Something you two can have fun with, when he gets all patched up !

I bought him an easy chair for father's day. Besides, my step mother gives him all kinds of shit over the guns he already has.

In regards to the "excellent progress" on getting out of debt...what kind of debt are we talking about here?  Mortgage or other?  If other, and the interest rate is not in the low single digits, don't be blowing it on toys.

I think in ten years we all might be pissed that we didn't buy LOTS of M1s

I take it you get along with your stepmom? Other wise all the more reason to buy him something.

Are you set up for reloading?

If not, then it's time to get started. Start out with an instruction book. A good one is "The ABC's of Reloading", a good primer for newbies.

Century Arms currently has Greek 30-06 in 400 rd spam cans for .27c per round. Boxer primed, non corrosive, and M2 spec. Not a bad price if you are in need of 30-06 ammo. If I didn't already have gobs of 30-06, I would jump on that deal.
