Thinking about buying a 2000 Avalon with 67K miles on the odo. Price is around $10K. Really good cond.

How many miles do you think I can wring out of this car?

I have 105K on my 03 Sienna and it still looks like new

With maintenence the sky is the limit. Without maintenence about 150k.

My aunt has a 2000 Camry with (I am not making this up) 6800 miles on it.

At this rate it should last until the earth crashes into the sun...

Not necessarily, time wears components down too. Rubber hoses crack/fail, parts that dont get used that much just sit there and can rust/freeze up, etc...

Family member has 2001 bought new with 150K on it. Regularly maintained, no hint of any problems. I expect that one to go 200K based on what I've seen.

If well maintained, I'd be very disappointed to see anything less than 200K out of it.

I take care of my cars, so if I get it, it WILL be well-maintained. I'm a fairly good driver (not a lead foot).

It's not so much how you'll take care of it, it's more of how the current owners have taken care of it so far.

It's at a Toyota dealer right now. They have a full history of it - Carfax, etc. Plus it's been checked and certified.

My daughter has my old one with about 165,000 miles (Had 14,000 when I gave it to her !). Still looks good and runs great.

Take care of the car and 200,000 seems probable.

Yep, we take it out every now and then but for the most part it's a once a week trip to the grocery store and that's it. Interestingly, I was driving it for a couple days this week while my (1999) Blazer was in the shop for new brakes. Both vehicles are in good shape, but the Blazer rides better than the Camry. Different type vehicles of course, but I found it interesting. 70K on the Chevy, FWIW.

It should be a fine vehicle. Toyotas are known for long service lives. Just don't believe the hype

I think I am the only person who has ever had that car over 3000 RPM (3500, no I wasn't thrashing it) - it's all beige and it's a pain in the butt to get out of (I am 6'3") Feels like I am sitting on the floor

my dad bought a 84 Oldsmobile Delta88 LS brand new and he literally only drive it on weekends for 15 years. It had 35K when it died prematurely in 02.

I have a 97 toyota tocoma with over 245, 000 miles. It runs great. It doesn't burn oil and has good compression. I'd drive it across the country tomorrow if I had too.

Iv'e had to replace the front rotors and clutch, but that is about it. Oh, catalytic converter also...

We've got some fleet vans at work with extremely low miles for their age. Stuff breaks on 'em anyway. You'd think they had 3-4 times the mileage. Engines sound like shit.

Our 2001 Avalon has about 90K miles so far. We've had no problems aside from needing a new set of front brake pads, but those are wear items. The shocks/struts on ours might be getting a bit "soft", but I am unsure if spending the money to replace those is worth it. We'll probably only keep ours another two years, then we'll look for a new Avalon, or maybe a Lexus or Acura sedan.

The Avalon is a nice car. I'd guess a well maintained model would make 200K miles. Our old 91' 4-Runner made 150K miles before we decided to buy a Tahoe to get something bigger.

I would recommend you put full synthetic form the get go in the ebgine and the rear diff if they have the synthetic type for it. If you follow all the maintenance and take care of it, i would say 250k easy. Toyotas last forever even if you abuse them.
