Why is the bolt carrier different on my SP-1 than on my new Colt? Any help would be appreciated!

Colt milled the bottom on new bolt carriers so they'll clear the sear blocks.  This also keeps them from being used with lightning links.

Try to use the SP1 BC in your new Colt and you'll see how it works.
