I have bought and sold over the internet a few times. I am starting to build up a small stack of ffl's.  I have always wondered if I should keep them or toss them?  Not too sure what to do.  From my understanding, they are used for verification of shipping a firearm to an unknown ffl and to get their address.  Am I missing anything?

I was wondering if you had any idea on this subject?

Legally you must keep them on file for several years.  Most states require anywhere from 3-7, and an FFL is required to keep them for 20yrs.

Unless you are a licensee, you don't have to keep them.  You aren't required to get one from a dealer you're shipping to but it is a good idea.
