Does anyone know the difference between the M1 Tactical and the Super 90's?  The one that I put on layaway has the standard stock (no pistol grip) and standard beed on the barrel sights.  Would it be worth the extra $200 to get the pistol grip and ghost ring sights?

The exact name for the Benelli is M1/super90tactical or something like that.  They are basicaly the same guns except like you said sights and stock configurations. with pistol grip stock you can only have a 2 shot mag extention with the coventional stock you can put the 4 shot on legaly. I like the pistol grip modles with the ghost ring sights. no problem hitting 100yd targets with slugs with mine. Yet everbody has there preference.

How much did you pay for yours?

Yes, I always look at guns for resale, pistol grip and ghost ring sights are more sought after. I've been burnt too many times buying guns just becaues I like them. Ill spend more money for a gun then just thinking about the price. think ahead instead of thinking I should have.

Well, I bought the tactical and then found the standard stock on www.auctionarms.com for $35. You might consider going that route.

That being said, the price you posted sounds a little high. If I remember correctly, I can get the M1S90 for $799 at my local shop.

I bought an M1/S90 synthetic stock, field gun, an extra bbl( 19" with rifle sights) and a four shot extension.  Now, I have a hunting gun with 5 choke tubes and a tactical shotgun with 8+1 rounds for about 1000 dollars.
A tactical has only five shots and a pistol grip, big deal. And it costs 850 dollars.

Tactical has an 18 1/2 in. tube with screw in chokes.
M-1 Super 90 has a 20 inch tube and no chokes.
Both are available with rifle/ghost ring sights and standard/pistol grip stocks.

So, what do you think about the M3 vs the M1?  (semi vs. pump/semi)  Is it worth the extra $200?

Depends on what you're going to be shooting out of it. If you're going to be shooting less lethal loads such as beanbag or "rubber buck" or slugs than you definitely need the M-3, but if you're shooting full power buck or slugs than the M-1s your gun. My M-1 gets a steady diet of S&B 2 3/4"OO buck and 2 3/4" Remington Sluggers. I get better 100 yd. accuracy with the Sluggers than I did with Brennekes.

I think the M3 has a set cyl. bore choke, whereas the M1 Tactical has the ability to change the choke.  Also FWIW, Surefire makes a dedicated forearm for the M1, but I don't think anyone does for the M3.  A little known    EXPENSIVE accessory for an already expensive M3 is a 26" ribbed? barrel.
