Ok, hypothetical question brought on by the death of Boris Yeltsin.

What if Putin is consolidating a power base for the introduction of another Soviet Union?

What if the world returned to a "two warring superpower" frame of mind again?

What if this hypothetical "Union II" started buying back all the military equipment and

nuclear merchandise which they have dispersed over the face of the earth (read:

Middle East.)  Would the world restabilize into the old "USA vs. USSR" framework again?

Or would it exacerbate the new terrorism/Middle Eastern problems, as well as bringing

back the horrors of Communism?

No matter what people think, Soviet Russia is not our friend.

So, yes.

IMO it (re-constituting the old USSR) would be like trying to herd blind shellshocked cats while wheelchair bound.

That speaks to the areas being re-constituted and the true power of the entity trying to make it happen.

My question is are they going to be getting pigs drunk and launching them out of mortars again?
