Todd County Judge Sue Carol Browning has been suspended.

Kentucky’s Judicial Conduct Commission suspended Browning based on her actions in denying bail to 17 defendants, most of whom were charged with traffic offenses or misdemeanors. The 17 defendants involved were Hispanic immigrants.

Browning will be suspended without pay for 15 days beginning on April 28, 2007.

In an open letter, Browning discusses the incident and states, “In those cases, I ordered that the defendants be held in jail pending an investigation by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding their identity and legal status.”

Just another example of the coddling of people who are here in violation of the law and the persecution of anyone who tries to uphold the law.
