Tactical applications for a 5.56mm Pistol!??  There are none.  Besides the BLAST and Fireball all you get is a round with .22LR performance.  Probably defeat body armor better, but the wounds would be minimal as the round doesn't have the velocity needed to make the kind of wound 5.56 is known for.

My impression is its an interesting and creative way to get around the 50oz rule.  They have a large 'Kewl' factor and probably are lots of fun blasting away.

I'd probably pick a .22LR handgun over it if I had to defend myself.
