Robber shot during confrontation with Tucson homeowner
(Tucson-AP) -- A would-be robber is dead after Tucson police say he was shot with his own gun during a struggle with a homeowner.

The fatal confrontation occurred about 8 o'clock last night when police say the homeowner discovered the suspect in his garage.

The homeowner told officers that he began struggling with the robber after the gunman demanded money.

Police say besides a 38-caliber handgun, the robber also had a stun gun, wire cutters and a policer radio scanner.

Police say the homeowner's phone line had been cut and the homeowner, who suffered head injuries in the struggle, had to yell for help.

The incident occurred in the 36-hundred block of north Royal Prince Court.

The injured homeowner was taken to a hospital. The suspect was dead at the scene.
