I was just curious what everyones favorite configuration is for an AR.. Myself I can not decide between a standard 20" or an M4 so I am going to buy both [whacko]

20", A2 stock and sights, FH+grenade launcher, Bayonet lug, pistol grip and 3 round burst parts.  If its good enough for the USMC, its good enough for me.  Too bad that configuration costs $5000.

Definitely the M4gery -

Several years ago I stumbled across a deal on a 14.5" Colt M4 barrel and didn't quite know what to do with it.  But my friend Mark Serbu http://www.serbu.com fabricated a slightly longer A2 flash hider and pinned it, so I figured I'd build up one of the pre-ban Olympic lowers that I'd been hoarding.

It turned out to be my absolutely favorite AR of all time!!  At the range, it can out shoot my buddy Russell's factory Colt H-BAR no matter who is shooting it.  Plus it's so light and handles so well, it almost aims itself!

Since then, Kurt at KKF has started to make flash hiders specifically for this, so I don't have to use up favors with Serbu to build more.

I like the M4 handguards.  And while I appreciate the quality of the Colt telestock, I don't care how many positions it has because the only ones I use are fully open and fully collapsed.  The bipod is a cheap Ramline that works surprizing well and cost $12.

For the flat-top upper I've got a Colt carry handle, a DPMS rear sight, and an Aimpoint Comp M, but the C-MORE is the best of them all.  I have no idea why these aren't more popular.

And the orange Thermolds are always a conversation starter.  [:D]

I like my CQB style M4,  but the slightly longer Bushmaster with ACOG and Jewell trigger,  really make for a great shooting and easy to carry weapon.
