I'm sorry.. So far I have heard about SAR2s on other websites. But then I hear about SAR1s on this website. Could someone please tell me the difference. I would love to own one of these but don't know which one to look for because of confusion. Of course I want the best one. [:D]

SAR-1 is 7.62x39
SAR-2 is 5.45x39

There is also a SAR-3, which is chambered in .223.

have owned a couple of sar-1's and love that ugly little rifle. lite and very! very! reliable. was looking for a sar-2 the last two weeks and could not find one.
been watching the prices advertized by some wholesellers and where the sar-2 used to be the cheaper of the two now it cost's more. very nice weapon.
