A general rule of thumb is for every inch of barrel loss you lose 100 fps +or- a few. The accuracy question is one not asked much. The short barrel is every bit as accurate as long one. The slower velocity is prone to not stabilize a bullet as far,thus a reduction in range not accuracy. |

I believe the actual loss is in the neighborhood of 125 to 150 fps TOTAL going from the 21" Standard rifle to the 16.25" Carbine (about 25fps/foot). Tayous--the Carbine handles MUCH better than the longer gun, however, with the muzzlebrake, it is significantly louder also. AFARR |
