In response to the "guns you would never buy again" thread, I figured we all had some regrets of getting rid of a gun or two.  I have several;

HKp7m8

SigP225

Pre-Ban Colt AR 16"

Pre-Ban Colt AR 20"

Colt Series 70 .45

A Browning .22 semi grade 1

It was my very first gun, a Christmas gift from my parents when I was 12.  When I was in college (age 17) I pawned it to get rent money.  Always planned to get it out but never did.  That was 24 years ago. I wonder where it is now?

As a young kid I had an uncle that subscibed to several gun periodicals. I read many interesting stories at that young age about many adventures and neat guns. One particular theme that was played over and over again was a story about some gun that a writer had gotten rid of and was still kicking himself about it to that day.

This stuck with me and over the years of collecting guns I've managed to never give up anything. This is one of the very few lessons that I managed to learn from the experience of others,,, and I'm now very glad that I did.

The only thing that I regret is all the neat toys I could have collected back in the 85-90 time frame. I had plenty of money to throw around but just didn't throw it in the right direction...

P.S.  Almost forgot, Sold a Pre-Ban Vietnam Commemorative M-16 (labeled as such, actually semi-only) with shadow box, gold trimming, etc... Sold it for $1100 to my sister (for my Brother-in-Law).  He now proudly displays it in his gun store.  I really hate seeing that everytime I go there LOL.  Tough thing is he really wants to get rid of it for something he can shoot, but she would kick his a$$ if he did.  Guess I'm stuck looking at it.

Para-Ordnance P14-45 Limited. Sold to finance another firearms purchase.

I've since sold three 3 different Beretta pistols and haven't felt a bit of remorse for selling them but that Para eats at me.

I have never sold one of my guns. I still have my first .22 rifle that my Dad bought me. It is now a pcs of junk but it would be the last gun I sell due to some drastic situation. (Been broke twice and managed not to sell my guns)

Sgt Kiwi, I can definitely feel your pain. Smarts has next to nothing to do with it, but I recently bought my one and only preban shorty AR and I still have my P7M8. Just in case you think we couldn't cry together in our respective beers ...here're my additions to the list.
  1)series 70 Gold Cup 45
2)Kart 22 conversion unit for it
  3)American 180(remember;177rnd .22)ser#100
4)SPAS 12...No, I wouldn't want it back, but      they go for twice what I sold the POS for.
  5)Crescent Arms 410 SxS, English style,pre'35
Do you here the knashing of teeth and rending of garments ?   Stay safe

From 1986 through 1991 or so, I probably went through at least 10 different pre-ban AR's, mostly Colt's. By late 1994, I regretted selling any of them. I sold one new in box CAR Colt for $600.  IDIOT!

Damn Ken! That's pretty spooky, I think I wouldn't have minded letting that one go.

Probably the one I miss the most is a full auto (transferable LaFrance conversion) underfolding, Polytech AKM.  Sold it two years ago for about $4500 (and I made good money on it), but they're going for about $6k these days.  Should have kept it and krinked it.

A Norinco .223 AK. Traded it for a NHM91 right before all the cheap Wolf .223 ammo started to come in. I didn't like the way it beat brass and the ammo was more expensive than 7.62x39. Wolf would have made that irrelevant. The NHM91 turned out to be junk too.

Sold my Glock 19 and (3)LE Hi-Caps, pancake holster, & Forbus Holster to a fellow LEO in Mass. to pay off some late bills. That guy got a screaming deal, considering how I treat all my stuff like platinum...$400! Wish I had it back my Glock 26 is getting lonely. Maybe get a Kimber next!

All teh guns my dad sent home from Germany during and after WW II... He had a few that were absolutely outstanding!  And a few that weren't but still...

All I have left from that collection is the Mauser 1898, the Mauser .22 training rifle and the P38...excellent conditions on all of them.

Springfield standard M1A that shot 1/2" out of the box.  I wanted a "real" sniper system, so I sold the gun, scope mount, 5 20 round mags, and a soft case for $1,000.00 to help set up a Remington PSS.  The PSS shoots nice, too, but DAMN!!!  I miss the M1A!!!
