Who else here posts while at work?  I must admit, while I should be hard at work, I'm posting away here... Heaven forbid I get caught...hehe
Everyday I attempt to develop more advanced emergency plans in case I need to cover up quickly...
Any tips that aren't obvious?

I'm guilty of doing extracurricular posting as well. I usually have ar15.com open right behind another browser or productivity window (i.e. excel or word or something). If you open them in the right order, going back and forth between windows is just an "alt-tab" keystroke away! =D

The company I work for provides computers and internet access in each office and cube.  They tell us its not for personal enjoyment.  The proxy server they have setup blocks just about every site I can think of including AR15.COM.  This really isnt a big deal when you bypass the proxy :)

I often leave it running in the backgound here at work. I'll run through the recent posts when I need a break, then pass on news/humor/whatever to co-workers. They appreciate the forum almost as much as I do!

Oh - heavens no!  That is strictly against
company policy.  Didn't I mention that my
boss yanked my internet priveleges permanently
on 1/2/01 when he found out I'd been spending
my time here?  Permanently as in "never to have
them again"?  Did I mention I don't have
internet access at home????????

(I greased the IT guy!)  [}:D]

edited to add:  Everybody here always wonders
why I always have current events news before it
comes out in the papers.  If it weren't for you
guys & gals, plus Drudgereport, I wouldn't.
Right now I just say "Oh, I've got connections.."

we have net access here at work but have been told NOT to use it. matter of fact, they have a tracking program running to monitor what places you have been on the web. not a problem, i just keep it on the co. web page all day as well as the 'mailbox' that is set up for everyone here.

but there just happens to be a phone on my desk, gee, a lap top, phone line, what is the problem? since we are very slow here this week, i get to play. what a country!

I consider it a fringe benefit. OK, it might be against Corporate policy, but being a Business Analist gets real boring from time to time. So in order to recharge my batteries I come overhere.
BTW, how can I bypass the Corporate Smartfilter ?(I log on using a proxy, I guess, I'm not a real wizz on these things, more sort of your a bit above average user)[whacko]

Damn right! I clawed my way to the top so I can give myself priority access to the T-3, and get to play all the kickass network games with the techs.

Well if they dont know what they are doing you can just access the internet by not using their proxy.  Go into your web browsers options and check the connections settings.  If the box is checked to use a proxy simply un-check the box.  Try a site that you ordinarily cant get to.  If it works your set.

In between cars (free time) courtesy of TOYOTA's
requirements that all dealers be on-line earlier this year. We have 2 computers in the shop and 5 ports so I can sit on my bench and read AR-15 and SUBGUNS.com, and others, like I have alot for the last 2 weeks.
