Actually had two big bucks in the back yard eating apples a couple weeks ago.  I think a .50 at five yards would have about done it.
Funny thing is that we bought the house cause it was the cheapest we could afford in the Bay Area, veiw was just sort of a bonus.  Has been neat though, we get offshore power boat races, tankers coming through, and got to see the Iowa going to mothball from my back yard:

Crappy thing is my house is in California.  Oh well, can't have everything I guess. [:)]

Ratters,

I remember that picture now.  I don't know many folks that have battleships in their backyard.  Except for that one time my mother-in-law was sitting in mine.  Gravity has definately been cruel to her 16 inch guns.  Kinda hoping genetics hits a firewall with my wife. [:D]  I have a "pet".  A 6 year old Sheltie came with my wife when I married her.  Package deal.  I must admit that I don't have a fondness for this breed.  They pretty much bark, poop, shed and eat.  That's about it.  the dog is now 14 years old and is still alive.  At least I think it is.  I have now lovingly nicknamed her "speedbump".  I am certain that contintental drift involves more movement than this dog.  I have no picture, sorry.  If you want one, just open up a bag of cheetos, crush them up, add water and mold into a big messy orange lump.  Throw it in a corner of your house next to the drapes, and it's an accurate representation.  You can now have my dog for a week if you wish.  Even with the bugs slowly eating away at it, it will still move faster than mine.

(Both have disappeared - Coyotes, probably)

Tommy:

There's a story behind Tommy.  Notice his front right leg.  He was attacked by something some time back, and his leg was broken and torn open and his gut slashed.  We didn't think he was gonna make it, but he pulled through without any veterinary assistance.

When I moved in, we had approximately 6 barn cats, including Kolby & Snowball (pictured above).  I always thought that Tommy wouldn't last long due to his leg.  Well, it turns out that Tommy was the last one left in the end.  When he walks, he has a pronounced limp, but when he wants to run, he can keep up with the rest.

A few months back, the neighbor brought over three more kittens.  That number dropped to one in less than a week.  One was a victim of my former roommate's truck, and the other disappeared.  Daisy - the shyest and most timid out of the three - was the one out of that bunch to survive, and Tommy's been grooming her for plans to come... hehehe.

Picked up two more at work a few weeks back - a mother and kitten.  They seem to be doing okay so far.

I'm honestly more of a dawg person (go figure).  Never really liked cats until I moved in here.  The landlord has a couple Australian Shepherds that are pains in the ass, and the neighbor's Chocolate Lab seems to spend more time with us than them. LOL

Samantha....aka BooBoo Kitty
She's a Russian Blue, about 20 years old now.  Sleeps most of the time, but still gets the "rips" once in awhile.

JR...a mutt of unknown origin.  His claim to fame is snorkeling in the wading pool we keep for him.  Sticks his head under water and his butt in the air and runs around in circles in the pool that way.

Sadie...our protector
She's the one with 9 lives instead of the cats.  She's had 3 surgeries and a permanent metal plate in her leg, but she's still going strong.  Smart as a whip, too!

PussPuss...mouser deluxe!!! (and rabbits, and frogs, and gophers, and moles, and anthing else that moves)  She's a house cat now that we've moved to the city, so all the varmints back home are breathing a sigh of relief!

We love 'em all!  [:D]
