we have enough members will we ever have a convention(read shooting events and camping) of just arfcom members...I guess kinda like a hun farm shoot but with more members.....what say you ARCOM

Don't we have enough Conventions? I mean with SHOT and the NRA convention I'd say thats plenty of time off work every year.
As for doing something in each state for AR15.com member that would be cool. Maybe a weekend meet and greet with some range time. |

Three actually. The Black Rifle Convention in Nebo, IL in 2002 Gunstock I in Waco, TX in 2003, Gunstock II in 2004.  ETA: Damn, HAH! Beat TBK1 by mere seconds..

There's already been three--the BRC ("Black Rifle Convention") in June, 2002, Gunstock I in Oct., 2003, and Gunstock II in Oct., 2004.
It is too much work with too few volunteers to do the work--and too few who actually show up. The logistics are a nightmare and I doubt it will happen again because of this. |

Eastern/Midwest folks often assemble at Bulletfest, but it's not an Arfcom convention per se. We usually get 30 or more every year, sometimes a lot more.

You all would be surprised and impressed by the people you meet. All the jokes and funny crap you see in GD is multiplied and all the photos of cool firearms you've seen in the tech forums materialize. As stated above, I doubt another national gathering would happen soon. Your best bet is to organize local events through your hometown forums. People have made very strong friendships from this website - many of them from just across town. The folks here are just your average joes from society who happen to enjoy the exact same things you do. What better group of people could you imagine meeting?

This seems like a bad idea, that seems like it would bring every ATF, FBI, and Homeland Security agent running to see whose terroristic weapons they could confiscate. Maybe not though, some of them might fit right in. Who knows.

We should put on another BRC somewher by Berry (Pasa) I went to the first one but idnt really know anyone there besides AntiUSSA  .ETA- We could just make it local IL people and who ever else wants to show up. |

So true..I spent the weekend with a bunch of Arfcommers on the Florida hometown forum on a camp and shoot....a great time and good people. Its cool to put real names to screen names and faces to the real names...Sure is an eye opener in some cases. |
