This very evening I rediscovered my front porch.  It has been there since I purchased this house and in truth since long before that celebrated day. The deep shadow and cool retreat of the hot southern summer day becomes something totaly different in the winter time. A seldom visited footnote in the architecture of the traditional southern home is spurned for the warm hearth of the central house in the blustery days of dreary cold. Bitter winds drive the residents indoors for extended periods when the months have 'R's in their midst.  Rarely does even the hardiest venture outside of the cheerful warmth of the crackling fireplace on winter days when the north winds howl their dreadful moans. Only with the wakening of spring  will an advenrterous nimrod relenquish the comfort and merriment of the homeplace to venture forth into the chill and this with extreme caution.

Dude! i write some flowery shit when I'm drinking.  Went outside to take a piss and said to myself, hey, i haven't been out here in a long tim,e! think I'll go tell the gurys about it/

If you smoke cigars outside like I do, you notice that stuff often. I decided I need a bigger slab and a porch cover.
