It's not a mil-surp, but a replica, I do believe. I will allow someone with more research to verify that for you. If it makes you feel any better, I have $125 invested in my Postal Meter WW2 Carbine......

skip it and buy a CMP M1 Carbine in a couple of months

AO just started making repo's of the M1 Carbine. They did a pretty good job, but nothing is like the real thing. The repo should go for high 5's to low 6's, not 699.00

When I bought mine at the end of '04/ beginning of '05 it was $530 or so plus ship/ transfer. I know they raised prices last year, but last time I priced them they were around $575- $600, not up near $700.
