I recently saw a study that reported on the types of weapons used to kill police officers. At first glance it appeared that it didn't support the gun-grabbers' notions of who and what is to blame for violence against police officers, so I made a note of it for further study and possible use when writing to my representatives. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost my note and can't find the study in my bookmarks or tags or via search. Can anyone give me a link?

The FBI does a report that counts type (rifle or hangdun) and caliber used, but not make or model. For 2005, the latest report, I think there were 2 officers killed with 7.62x39 rifles, 1 by .223 rifle, 5 by shotgun, 5 by car, 42 with handguns, 6 of which were the officer's handgun. Search the FBI website for law enforcement officers feloniously killed.

Yes, I haven't yet been able to find a full copy online. But the summary was good enough for my immediate purposes. Hopefully the full document will surface sometime soon.
