I want a good CCW pistol and I have pretty much decided on a 45 (still throwing around the 357sig), but most likely the 45. I was wondering what people think about the Taurus PT145, anybody have one. It reminds me alot of  the KT. How is the recoil? More impotantly how is that DAO trigger? Any good compact 1911's. I want something nice and small yet good for the money. I don't think I can justify a $750 kimber.

Why not look at the Glock 30,36, or the Paraordnance P-12 LDA? I think they`re all good compact pistols.

Glock 36, .45ACP  $455.00 or so.

Kimber Ultra Carry Stainless, $645.00 or so...for $200.00 extra you get one heck of a pistol.  Yeah.  Its more than you want to spend, but hey...its only your life or your loved ones you want to protect.

Seriously...Glocks will always shoot & Kimbers will also...just more accurately & with less recoil.

Bottom line as someone has stated:  you get what you pay for...now is not the time to be frugal.

Where did you find the stainless ultra carry for $645?  I am in the market for a 1911 and this is just what I need :)

Gun Show in the Dallas area...sorry.

Try http://www.sportingarms.com They typically have very good pricing.  They are located in the DFW area & have quoted me excellent prices in the past.

I have a Glock 36, I love the way that narrow grip fits my hands.

Glock 36 for me, too.  The Pearce Grip +1 floorplate is a nice touch.

I think that the HK USP45C is the best .45 compact to be had at any price.

Just my .02
