If political efforts to bring the terrorists to justice are rebuffed by various middle eastern countries, what do you thing the possibilities are for the USA to use this as justification for "occupying" a country.  Oil problem solved via USA colonialism????

We have oil in anwr. We have oil off the coast. What we don't have is enough people who have the balls to call for getting it ourselves.

I agree that there is probably a good supply available within the USA.  But what about using this crisis as an excuse to be adventurous with our military, seize real estate and kill two birds with one stone?  I am not advocating this, but I would think it is something that must have been considered by our government.  

My suspicion is that most of the civilians in the middle east countries likely involved in this crisis would be better off (and have a better future) with the leadership/control from the USA rather than their local politicos. Political ramifications??? Comments???

What do you mean?  The US is keeping more dictators in power than anything else.
