made by Norinco and could be imported to the US would you buy one for 200?
They would be as reliable and ugly as their ak/sks stuff |
the stocks would be tiny, for those tiny chinese arms to use.

I think a I saw some canadians get one of those with the dilrod handguard in a post here. |
I tried to think of an AR that had the "quality" machining my SKS has, and I threw up in my mouth a little bit. The SKS is reliable, goes bang every time, but pretty is not one of its attributes. |
Yeah but the handguard on the upper one looks like a big ol' ribbed condom. I dont want to be shooting all the while like I feel like I was holding a dick in my hand. Its just not me ya know? |
hell yes i would buy!
ETA: As long as I could change out those handguards |
I wonder if it would replace Olympic Arms as MarkM's favorite AR15 manufacturer.
Hell, it would open up a new line of Tapco parts... |
id buy one and some cheap-o chinese ammo and see how fast I could melt the barrel on the damned thing
I'll defer to your better judgement as to what a giant ribbed cock feels like. I'd just replace the hand guards.. |

CQ311..
Good accuracy, odd twist rate, either 1/15 or 1/12. Old style furniture. No forward assist or newer stuff. Bad finish. I have alot of Norc stuff. But didnt go for a Norc AR. For an AR I went with a 10.5 inch LMT MRP CQB. But I have lots of other norc stuff like a Lawman 14 inch 870 clone and a nice parkerized 1911. Theres a rumour that Norc is gonna start selling M4geries up here eventually. Norc quality is hit or miss. They can be really good or total shit. Steel quality is generally better than most domestics at least for 1911s. The CQ311 is really crude.. It groups well when shot, but the finish is poor and shit looking. |
oddly enough when I clicked on teh link to the Sinodefense website, the banner add at the top was for the Bigbrotherbigsister.org site.
I found that somehow appropriate in many ways.. |
I'd just be curious to have an accurate report on how quality of a copy it is, i.e. metallurgy, parts swapability, etc...
Even if you don't buy a Chinese AR one positive thing is the competition would make American ARs less expensive. Now if we could get the Chinese to flood the US with 5.56 ammo that would be a big plus.
You're right. We just need to lower the standard of living in the US a little more and they will be able to compete.WTF? I can't help but wonder how many of you would have bought German or Japanese goods in,oh,about 1938 or 39? |
Yeah up here the selling price on the CQ311 is about half the price of a comparable quality AR like Stag or RRA. I heard that Colt gave Norc the rights to make the 1911 clones in exchange for stopping production of the CQ311. The problem with alot of the norc stuff is the OD/ID tolerances seem to very abit, so that even if the machining is good, occassionaly its hard to get some better quality aftermarket to fit on thier stuff. A much better Norc copy is the M1A copy. I think if you guys saw the CQ311 in person you would probably take a pass unless you really wanted a cheap way to shoot 5.56mm.

The real question is would you be able to attatch three and a half miles of picatinny rails to it? If so they would sell well, no rails and they may as well be selling them as fence posts.
No.
I bought my polytech ak second or third or fourth hand, and I have to say it's 1000% better than the Eastern European models I've seen. But in an AR? |
Sounds like it would make a good woman! GR |
Are you kidding me? I wouldn't buy an AR made from China if it cost $20.00.
The quality of steel and plastics in that country is piss-poor and their quality control sucks on just about everything they do. Now, when it comes to buying cheap luxary electronics or toys who gives a shit, but when you're talking about something that could go KABOOM and kill me or worse fail to go Bang and get me killed than NO WAY. |
Hell no, at any price.
Will they sell them to Joe Sixpack in China, too? |
Hope you don't drive a Japanese car or use foreign made tools. When I look at my Bushmaster AR I wonder why it had to cost as much as it did. It seems like most guns should cost half what they do. |

i hate to admit it, but for that price, i'd stock up on crates of them. $200 crap today is a $1200 pre-ban gold tomorrow. seen that happen once already.
plus the norinco 1911 and M1A receivers turned out to be pretty damn good. shocked the shit outa me too when i first heard that. |
