I know some folks had posted questions about current ammo delivery times. Sunday night I placed an order on http://www.ammoman.com for 1000 rounds of South African 308 ($169 delivered).

It arrived today. Can't do much better than that without going to the store and picking it up yourself.

I ordered a 1000 rounds of 7.62x39mm from classic arms today. Delivery time was said to be next week.

Called Tapco and they had NO ammo at all.

Sold it all last week.

Well, damnit.

That's the last time I give someone else a shot,

I ordered up some IMI M855 from a guy on gunbroker.com last Tuesday AM (before the incident)  Got a good price, but have had to email 3 times to confirm the order, etc.  Still haven't received it or my tracking number.

Hope i don't get screwed.

ammoman or aimsurplus from now on.

Ordered two cases (1920 rounds) of 7.62x39 from AIM on Sunday night.  Their website indicated that it was in-stock.

Should be here tomorrow.  If it's not, there's a problem.

For when TSHTF, of course!  I've also ordered some new tin foil beanies just to be safe.

Don't you know anything?

... I feel I must amend my original topic on this subject from yesterday. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=52851 Yeah, that was me. Anyway my UPS tracker shows the package is already half way here across USA from NJ!
Should see it tomorrow or so.
Again, I was not complaining and still say that was the "default" shipping date for Eric to be safe.
Just curious.
I'm definitely a happy customer.

Jon3 -

Who's stocking up? Even with the 1000 rounds that came today I have less than 4k rounds of 308 in the house.  I don't intentionally stockpile ammo, I just buy it when I have money and there is a good deal.

After the last group shoot we had I figured I shot up around 1000 rounds of 223, 308, 30-06 and a couple handgun calibers. So it pays to buy in bulk when the prices are good.

Which reminds me that I'm under 1k on 30-06 in enbloc clips. Better do some more shopping [;)]

jon3,With our Country on the brink of a war on the scale of NOTHING LIKE we've ever seen before, ammo can get real scarce on the home front and prices have already started going up.For whatever reason you can justify,BUY YOUR AMMO NOW.It may be hard to get later.

full-clip -

The last time I bought 30-06 for the M1 was about 2 years ago. Picked up a couple of 240 round cans of the Greek stuff and a couple of 400 round cans of the Talon remanufactured stuff. Other than a couple cans of the LC72 from the CMP, I haven't got anything too recently. I'll check with ammoman and see what he has before I shop elsewhere.
