Well, first off, the 101st is Airborne in name only, it is the worlds only Air Assault Division. What that means is that they are air mobile, by helicopters.
The info I have may be a bit dated, but generally you can enlist for airborne training, but you may go to the school and then serve in a leg or air assault (leg on a rope) unit and never jump again.
You can usually enlist for Rangers, you go to basic, AIT, jump school, then battalion. Airborne used to be a mandatory 4 year enlistment, though.
Unless things have changed again, you must be an E-4 promotable to go Special Forces, which means time in grade and in another unit.
With a bachelors degree you can go officer (OCS) if you want to, and if they want you to.
