Not a war? Phew! That's a relief.

"German friends"....

hmmm....

isn't that like:

"lawyer friend"?

"half-hour lunch hour"?

"plastic glass"?

"military intelligence"? :^)

Yup.

And they were all with us (germans, italians, etc) for a war until the damn french started up with, "it's not a war!"

Now they all want a trial. OMG! If there are any perps still here, heck, try them. But as for the COMBATANTS outside our country, military action is the only appropriate response. Not some multi year court action. And of course they want it to be an INTERNATIONAL trial to "show them" that they can't "get away" with this sort of thing. So that means the death penalty is out...

A trial is out of the question! It would degenerate rapidly into an international expo of every imagined crime that the United States and Israel committed over the past fifty years!

The very last thing to survive would be the Truth!  In situations such as this 'truth' is the first casualty!

Trust me, [:D], as your lawyer friend, we don't want any trials of Bin Laden!

Trials are for shoplifters and robbers, not people or groups that commit mass murder.  This is a military problem, not a law enforcement one.

Many of our "allies" will fight alongside us to the last drop of OUR blood....

a "trial"? That would legitimise the perps- hell, no!

The German leaders were subjected to trial and executed at the end of WWII.  There was no legal precedent for doing such a thing, and Winston Churchill himself considered the whole thing a sham.  Perhaps we shouldn't be too upset with the Germans for holding us to a precedent that we insisted upon establishing.
BTW, indvidual people can be friends, countries cannot.  Countries can form treaties which they may honor, and they can act in tandem due to mutual interests, but they can't be "friends."

If Germany, Italy or France do not get behind us in this TIME OF WAR, we need to kick their ass outta NATO and never send them another dime.

The only good thing about this war is we will see who is really for us and who isn't. We have fair weather freinds in NATO, our own government and even in our armed forces. Anyone who dissents on their military oath or oath of office should be dishonorably discharged and tried for treason.

I'm sorry if my criticism of Western European countries makes me anti semetic.

Well, that's what they're talking about everywhere I look. LAst to mention it was the NDP (read: socialist) leader in Canada.

More likely just get out. I mean, wouldn't be much without them. But Nato will go on forever... even if it doesn't really have a role anymore.

Anti-semitic :) Certainly overused these days.
