I missed both of those events. I'm not cracking on him but I guess I'm looking for a Regeanesque type speech or sound bite to soothe me right now. Back in the 80's I knew everything would be ok with Ronnie just by the way he spoke. I do have a very large warm fuzzy for my man G.W. but long for a better orator.

Not every generation is blessed with a Lincoln, Churchill, or a Reagan. In the end, it's really up to us.

I think Matt_S may have been slightly axaggerating about that one, but he makes very good points.

John McCain was Co-Sponser to Campaign Finance Reform, an anethma to the first amendment. He also has joined up with the trial lawyers and National Health Care fans in writing a Patient's Bill of Rights. He has also been no friend to the 2nd amandment lately, by sponsering at least 2 gun control measures. One was with Frank Lautenberg I believe.

I think John McCain was a great man and did great things during the Vietnam War, I just think he is beginning to lean left while in government. As long as he stays truely conservative, and supports this president, I have no problem with him.

I'm glad somebody said that. I've been questioning my sanity for hours now - I saw them interviewing Chuck Schumer on CNN and I actually didn't feel the need to vomit. I guess, for now, we ARE on the same side. I mean, he even praised the leadership of President Bush!
